About Me
It's me again and guess what? I am beginning this journey right along with you, so I thoroughly understand every hesitation, the resistance, the level of procrastination and every self-doubt you may be experiencing as it pertains to your health.
Like geesh, where to begin...so first off, I'm from Louisiana, a southern state where food festivals and food trucks to fit every craving seem to be at every corner....a place where cuisines are heavily battered or smothered in gravies, creams and sauces and a place where healthy food seems to be against the law! I'm also from a large family of cooks in which my grandmother and mom would always just shove food in your mouth and say, "huh, taste that and tell me what you think!" The word DIET in the south simple means, "Did I Eat That"? Just saying I definitely lived to eat. While eating breakfast, my thoughts were on the next meal and not in a healthy way. Southerners just simply love to eat because there is so much good eating to get to. And OMG, I cannot forget to mention Restaurant Week, and twice a year...I actually used to prepare for this time of year!!! As stars fill most people's eyes, food filled mine. I'm a true McFoodie, McFluffy, McFatty...say what you will but I enjoyed eating. But guess what, I still do, I just had to make some very important modifications!
Let's just say about eight years ago when my doctor gave me such a disappointing look (the side-eye) regarding my test results. You know that look, right? So of course, at the onset of poor health, doctors advise you to eat right and lose a bit of weight. I was scared for as long as it took me to get to my mom's house to be tempted yet again by some good ole home cooking. She's the best cook in the south! You may as well have considered me to be the Price Is Right's Mountain Climber because I was headed for the edge of the cliff as the years rolled by.
Two pregnancies later, considered obese, diagnosed with high blood pressure, then by 2015 with diabetes (in which I was in total denial) and as of two years ago, I was diagnosed with high cholesterol. I said to myself, now enough is enough. I'm not going to take all of this medication but I don't want to die! In addition, my oldest daughter gave birth to my first grandchild in 2017 and he's an active little booger too! We wear each other out. Lol! So barely catching my breath, after an evening of play, I was like...uh-uh, I can't continue to live like this.
Here I find myself asking many questions, such as;

Here I find myself asking many questions, such as;
- How do I take control of my health?
- How can I remain consistent & focused on my goal?
- How will I find the time?
- How, when and why did I let myself go?
- What can I do to hold myself accountable THIS time?
I discovered that I am currently dealing with the deadly quartet; obesity, high blood pressure, diabetes and high cholesterol. Now, I'm very frightened because there are cardiovascular issues on both sides of my family. With much research and education, it became evident that I have found my passion and purpose. I love to serve others and see people truly happy. I made a vow to myself that I would start this journey of a much healthier lifestyle and help as many people as I can along the way. Say "no more" to miserable and unwholesome living and say "yes" to a long, happy and fulfilled life!
I now have a made up, renewed mind, which is the start. I have accepted in my spirit that I deserve a good, healthy life. And finally, to have my body to follow. This, my Friend, is considered holistic living...treatment of the whole person. I'm game, are you?

So bottom line, I help people that are high risk for cardiovascular issues. I equip clients with the tools needed to gradually adopt a healthier lifestyle by natural alternatives. Unfortunately, I was in your shoes not too long ago and it was a difficult thing to accept but I was able to accomplish better lab results and I know you CAN too!
